Company operations platform · In use at Prince Technologies

The platform Prince Technologies runs its day on: support tickets with tiered assignment, tasks in a table or on a kanban board, attendance, leave and work-from-home requests, and team reports. A web app, plus a mobile app for staff. I designed and built it.

A personal finance app that splits money into funds, tracks banks, bills and credit cards, and flags a fund before it runs into deficit. A solo project: concept, design and development.

Where the work happens.

Most of the lifecycle doesn't happen at a desk. It happens in conference rooms, computer labs and expo halls, with the people who use the system every day.

Hi, I'm Jay.

I've been a programmer since May 2017. Today I'm a Programmer and IT Director at Prince Technologies Corporation.

Most of that time has gone into one thing: a comprehensive school management system used by large universities and schools across the Philippines. I'm one of its lead developers, on a team that carries it through the whole journey, from the first line of code to the support call.

That means I spend as much time with registrars, deans and IT teams as I do in an editor. I've learned that a feature isn't done when it ships. It's done when the person using it at enrollment week stops needing to call.

Outside of work I'm building Pondify, a personal finance app, because I wanted one that fit how I actually spend. I trade forex, which keeps me honest about risk and data, and I play basketball, which keeps me honest about teamwork.
